Diagnosis: FUT Mega-Session with White Hair

This patient is a gentleman in his 60’s who presented with Norwood Level IV hair loss. He had thick, curly, hair behind it which was transitioning from its natural light-brown color to white. The patient required a restoration of the entire frontal half of this scalp. This type of restoration typically requires 2,500 – 3,000 grafts. Based on the patient’s excellent hair characteristics, we determined 2,500 grafts would be adequate. Using the FUT technique, we performed a mega-session harvest of 2,500 grafts and transplanted these grafts to the entire frontal half of the scalp. The patient returned 12 months after surgery, and clearly the plan worked.
